As companies push to cut costs and run leaner, VOLL is expanding its AI-powered travel and expense platform across Latin America

The future of business travel won't be decided by who books a trip fastest. It'll be decided by who helps organizations make better operational decisions in real time.”

SãO PAULO, SãO PAULO, BRAZIL, September 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Artificial intelligence has already reshaped fields from marketing to customer service to software development. Another is quietly moving to the center of that conversation: corporate travel.

VOLL, a Brazilian travel and expense management platform, sees the shift as a chance to help define the next generation of business travel technology across the Americas.

Founded in 2017, the company closed 2025 with revenue of R$1.4 billion (approximately US$272 million), up more than 50% year over year, and drew fresh international attention after a R$700 million investment (approximately US$136 million) from New York-based private equity firm Warburg Pincus. The deal is one of the largest private equity investments in Latin America’s corporate travel sector in over a decade and is expected to accelerate the company's expansion and AI roadmap.

VOLL's strategy rests on a simple observation: after years of digital transformation, corporate travel management is still badly fragmented.

Air, hotel, ground transportation, expense reporting, reimbursements, payments, and traveler support are often still handled across a patchwork of platforms and vendors, creating operational drag for large organizations.

"For a lot of companies, corporate travel still runs on disconnected systems and manual work," said Luciano Brandão, CEO and co-founder of VOLL. "AI is a chance to cut costs, automate the operational decisions, and make the traveler's experience better."

Today, VOLL brings travel booking, corporate payments, expense management, and traveler support together in a single mobile platform. The company says it serves more than 850,000 monthly active users at organizations including Itaú, Nubank, Stefanini, McDonald's, Danone, Localiza, Beiersdorf, and iFood.

Its next phase moves past digital workflows toward autonomous execution, run by AI agents.

Among its first AI-powered tools are ExpenseHelper, which automates expense auditing and reimbursements; RatesAudit, which continuously monitors negotiated corporate hotel rates; and AirSave, an agent that flags lower-priced equivalent airfares before a ticket is issued.

VOLL says these systems are built to evolve from decision-support tools into autonomous operational agents that take administrative work off the plates of travel managers and business travelers alike.

The approach mirrors a broader shift across enterprise technology. Instead of just surfacing information, AI is increasingly being put to work executing processes, monitoring compliance, and making operational calls within the guardrails a company sets.

Why Latin America Matters

The region has a growing base of multinationals operating across several countries at once, juggling travel programs that span multiple currencies, decentralized operations, compliance demands, and travel policies that keep evolving.

VOLL also runs 24/7 traveler support in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, allowing multinationals to manage regional travel through a single operating model.

AI That Delivers Business Outcomes

The expansion comes as the global business travel industry keeps reshaping itself in the wake of the pandemic.

Companies are leaning harder on policy compliance, real-time visibility into spend, operational efficiency, and the ability to justify every trip.
That has drawn growing interest to platforms that fold travel management, financial controls, and AI-driven automation into one place.

"The future of business travel won't be decided by who books a trip fastest," Brandão said. "It'll be decided by who helps organizations make better operational decisions in real time. The real challenge is managing budgets, enforcing travel policy, and lifting productivity. AI makes all of that run far more efficiently", adds Brandão.

With new capital, growth, and continued investment in automation, VOLL plans to deepen its position in a market going through its biggest shift since online travel platforms first emerged.

If that bet is right, the next frontier for enterprise AI may not live inside data centers alone, but in how companies plan, approve, monitor, and optimize millions of business trips.
