US-Israeli Strike Iranian Energy Facilities in Isfahan, Khorramshahr
In Isfahan, facilities struck included a natural gas administration building and a gas pressure reduction station, which sustained damage along with parts of nearby residential areas. In Khorramshahr, a natural gas pipeline connected to a power plant was hit. Local officials stated that one missile impacted an area outside the pipeline station, and there were no casualties.
Power continued uninterrupted in Khorramshahr due to ongoing efforts, while information about electricity disruptions in Isfahan was not disclosed.
Earlier, Donald Trump had warned that the United States would "obliterate" Iran’s power plants if Tehran failed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping within 48 hours. In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that any strike on its infrastructure would provoke immediate "reciprocal" attacks on regional energy networks and desalination plants, particularly those serving Israel or US military facilities.
The strikes occurred shortly after Trump stated that he had ordered a five-day delay of attacks on Iranian energy sites, citing “very good and productive” discussions with Tehran over the preceding days.
The regional conflict has intensified since US and Israeli forces launched operations in Iran on February 28. Iran has retaliated with multiple drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Gulf countries hosting US military assets, resulting in damage to infrastructure and disruptions to regional stability.
