Paris Air Show Imposes Ban on Israeli Weapon Displays

(MENAFN) The Paris Air Show, which kicked off this Monday, has imposed restrictions on several Israeli exhibits showcasing offensive weaponry.

According to a local broadcaster, event organizers revealed they followed directives from French authorities issued before the show’s opening, mandating the removal of specific equipment displayed by Israeli exhibitors.

Visuals from the event depict black barriers erected around multiple Israeli stands, visibly obscuring their showcased technology.

Among those affected are four prominent Israeli defense firms — Rafael, Uvision, Elbit Systems, and Israel Aerospace Industries — which, as the broadcaster reports, failed to comply with regulations limiting the display of offensive arms and consequently faced sanctions.

A source cited by the broadcaster noted that these companies may only resume full exhibition rights if they consent to withdraw their restricted weaponry from public view.

Israel’s Defense Ministry vehemently condemned the action as “outrageous” and firmly rejected demands to remove their weapon systems. The ministry stated, “The French are hiding behind supposedly political considerations to exclude Israeli offensive weapons from an international exhibition – weapons that compete with French industries.”

Beyond official channels, several activist groups have criticized Israel’s participation at Le Bourget, calling for a full ban on Israeli firms due to concerns over “perpetuating international crime,” according to the broadcaster.

The ongoing Paris Air Show, slated to conclude next Sunday, unfolds amid Israel’s intensified military operations in Gaza — which have resulted in the deaths of over 55,000 Palestinians — alongside escalating tensions with Iran, Israel’s regional adversary.
