EgyptAir Suspends Flights to Four Key Cities

(MENAFN) EgyptAir has suspended all scheduled flights to four key destinations—Beirut, Amman, Baghdad, and Erbil—citing growing instability in the Middle East. The announcement, made Sunday, reflects broader disruptions across the aviation sector as the region grapples with mounting security concerns.

"Due to current events in the region and out of concern for the safety of its customers, EgyptAir announces the cancellation of its flights to Beirut, Amman, Baghdad, and Erbil airports until the situation in the region stabilizes," the airline said in a formal statement.

The decision comes in the wake of rising tensions fueled by the latest military escalation between Israel and Iran. Regional carriers have begun adjusting their routes and schedules, with several either reducing service or rerouting flights to avoid areas considered high-risk.

As one of the largest and oldest airlines in the Middle East, EgyptAir’s operational shift underscores the seriousness of the unfolding situation. The airline emphasized that passenger safety remains its top priority and said it would continue to monitor developments closely.

The airline did not indicate when flights to the affected cities might resume, stating only that service would be restored once the situation stabilizes.

EgyptAir advised passengers holding tickets to the affected destinations to contact the airline for rebooking options, cancellations, or further assistance.
