Elon Musk Refocuses on Business Projects
(MENAFN) Elon Musk has declared that he is returning his attention to his corporate undertakings, reinforcing a previous commitment to step away from political affairs and reduce his ties to the administration of U.S. Leader Donald Trump.
Musk, who leads Tesla and SpaceX and owns the platform X, recently revealed his intention to reduce his involvement as director of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
This department, formed by Trump shortly after he assumed office in January, was tasked with enforcing significant reductions in federal expenditures.
“Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms,” the billionaire entrepreneur stated in a post on X on Saturday.
He emphasized the necessity of dedicating intense effort to the development of key projects at X, xAI, and Tesla, also noting the upcoming Starship launch.
“I must be super focused on X/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), as we have critical technologies rolling out.”
His remarks came shortly after a significant disruption impacted the platform X, where users experienced a two-hour service failure. Many reported being unable to log in, view content, or refresh their feeds.
Downdetector, a platform that compiles user-submitted problem reports, documented more than 25,800 reports at the height of the incident, around 12:50 GMT.
Musk acknowledged the issue, stating, “As evidenced by the X uptime issues this week, major operational improvements need to be made.”
He pointed out that the backup systems, which were supposed to function during failures, “should have worked, but did not.”
Earlier in the week, during an appearance at the Qatar Economic Forum, Musk disclosed that he plans to curtail his political financial contributions, declaring that he has “done enough.”
The tech mogul, who allegedly donated over USD250 million to support Trump’s election efforts, affirmed he intends to contribute “a lot less” going forward.
